The most prestigious event in the Monaco tennis calendar is the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, which although named after the city-state's most famous ward, is actually held in the neighbouring French commune of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. The tournament is part of the ATP Masters Series of the ATP Tour. It is held annually during April-May. Monaco is a big tourist draw and tennis fans coming here often combine the tournament with a short holiday. Many book hotels, visit the famous casino and sample the world-class restaurants and nightlife that Monaco is famous for.
There are several ways that international tennis fans can reach Monaco, perhaps the most common method is by flying into Nice International Airport, which is just 22km away. A fast and efficient regional train service (SNCF) transports visitors quickly between the airport and Monaco itself. There are also regular and reliable bus services. Of course, if money is not an issue, perhaps one of the most comfortable and relaxing way of reaching Monaco is by ferry or private yacht.
