Porsche Arena is an indoor sporting venue located in Stuttgart, Germany. It is the venue for the Porsch Tennis Grand Prix, a Women’s Tennis Association Tour event.
The Arena opened in 2006 at a cost of €42 million, and has a capacity of 6,100.
It also hosts numerous other sports including boxing, basketball, handball and hockey, as well as music concerts.
The Arena is part of NeckarPark Stuttgart, which comprises five state-of-the-art event venues that are used for international sport, cultural, business and political events.
Stuttgart is served by an international airport that connects to cities across Europe, and is located approximately 13km from the city centre. If taking a hire car, the airport lies right next to the Autobahn A8 which connects to the city of Stuttgart.
The Porsche Arena is 4.5km from Stuttgart’s city centre and easily accessible by train or bus.
Stuttgart’s main train station is at the very centre of the city. From here take the S-Bahn (urban railway) line S1 heading for Plochingen/Esslingen to "Neckarpark (Mercedes-Benz)”.
As an alternative way to get to the Arena, boats stop regularly at the landing Mercedes-Benz Welt/NeckarPark. Further information can be found at www.neckar-kaeptn.de.
Parking is available at the Mercedes Benz Museum multi-storey car park, which is located next door to the Porsche Arena. Indeed, if you have any spare time, the museum is certainly worth checking out.
