Welford Road is a rugby stadium in Leicester, England, and is home to the Leicester Tigers - one of England's traditional rugby union powerhouses.
The stadium was built in the 1930s and has a capacity of 24,500, making it the largest club rugby union ground in England.
As well as staging Leicester Tiger games, the venue has also hosted several international matches, including in both the 1991 and 1995 Rugby World Cups.
The stadium is well equipped with amenities, with 19 bars situated around the ground and a number of food stalls as well.
The stadium is located on the edge of Leicester city centre and can be reached by foot from the centre of town.
Leicester Railway Station is a ten minute walk away and connects to numerous major UK cities including London.
For those arriving by air, East Midlands Airport runs many international flights throughout Europe. The airport has no direct rail link and so a taxi is recommended to make the 20 mile journey to the stadium.
Welford Road has 250 car parking spaces in the Crumbie Car Park, which operates on a first come first serve basis. There are also several other car parks within close proximity of the stadium, including Euro Park in the Cinema and Supermarket Complex, the NCP on Welford Road, and the NCP on East Street in the city centre.
