Spain is home to some of the most modern racing tracks in Europe and motorsports events here enjoy a loyal and enthusiastic following. Perhaps the best-known track is the Circuit de Catalunya, located in Montmelo, just north of Barcelona. It hosts some of the most important racing competitions in the country, such as the Formula One Spanish Grand Prix, the GP2 Series, the Spanish GT Championship and the Catalan Motorcycling Grand Prix.

Other popular racing events in Spain include the Spanish motorcycle Grand Prix, held at the Circuito de Jerez, the FIA WTCC Race of Spain, held at the Circuit de Valencia and the Rally Catalunya.
