Monte Carlo race track, also known as Circuit de Monaco, is a street circuit in Monte Carlo and la Condamine around the harbour of the principality of Monaco.
Since 1929, the circuit, which takes six weeks to build, has been used each year to host the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix.
The circuit is considered perhaps the most demanding track in Formula One racing, owing to its tight corners and narrow course.
It is also one of the most glamorous of Grand Prix events, with celebrities flocking to the principality and Superyachts filling the harbour for the days around the event.
Monte Carlo is small enough to walk around and once you have arrived, your only decision is from which vantage point you want to watch the race.
Monte Carlo’s closest international airport is Nice Airport, which is the principal port of arrival for passengers to the South of France.
If arriving into Nice, you can catch a train that provides a scenic journey along the coastline all the way into Monte Carlo. The journey time is around 25 minutes.
There are also frequent buses that do the same journey.
Another popular and slightly extravagant option is to arrive in Monte Carlo by helicopter. There are numerous companies that operate trips from Nice to Monte Carlo via chopper, including Heli Air Monaco.
