The major motorsport event in Hungary is the annual Hungarian Grand prix. The event is held every summer at the Hungaroring in Mogyorod, a village near Budapest. Each year the Hungarian Grand prix is attended by thousands of fans, many coming from across Europe and even further afield to be present at this prestigious event.

Hungary has plans to open a new motor racing circuit, the Balatonring, in the village of Savoly near lake Balaton. It is scheduled to open in 2010.
