About Motorsport in Germany

Germany is home to numerous motorsport venues and hosts a wide variety of exciting racing events, from Formula One and the German Touring Car Championship to Rallye Deutschland and the German motorcycle Grand Prix.

The most famous racing circuits in Germany are the Nurburgring and the Hockenheimring. Until recently, Germany had held two Grands Prix every year; the German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring and the European Grand Prix/Luxembourg Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. There is now just the German Grand Prix, the hosting of which will alternate yearly between the two circuits.

Other major motorsport circuits in Germany include the Euro Speedway Lausitz, the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, the Norisring in Nuremberg and the Sachsenring near Chemintz, which will host the 2011 Motor Cycle World Championship.
