Villa La Malva is located in the medieval village of Poggio alla Malva, Italy, three kilometres from the Medici Villa 'La Ferdinanda' and 15 kilometres from Florence. Distance to Signa train station is four kilometres.
Hotel Features. Situated on a hillside above the Arno River, the four storey Villa La Malva is a traditional Tuscan style property with a terracotta roof, bright Florentine colours, and views of the surrounding hills. Guests are welcome to relax by the television in the lobby or wander through the mature gardens. Safe deposit boxes are located at the front desk (limited hours) where multilingual staff can assist with travel arrangements and local excursions. Complimentary secure parking is available.
Breakfast (surcharge) is offered each morning in the breakfast room on the top floor. Drinks are available from the hotel bar which has terrace seating and panoramic views of the Arno valley. Room service is offered during opening hours.
Bicycles can be hired on site and are an ideal means by which to explore the surrounding Tuscan countryside. Golfers will find a driving range and 18 hole golf course 15 kilometres away.
Guestrooms. The 10 air conditioned guestrooms have classic Tuscan decor with terracotta tiled floors, colourful fabrics, and antique furniture. All have satellite television and direct dial phones. Bathrooms are supplied with hair dryers and complimentary toiletries.
Expert Tip. The Village of Artimino has a number of sites worth exploring, including an Etruscan necropolis dating from the 7th century BC, an archaeological museum, and a Medici villa.

Directions
From Florence Vespucci Airport (FLR):
Distance to Villa La Malva is 15 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Taxis into the city centre cost approximately 15 EUR 16 EUR, and the journey time is 15 minutes. An airport bus departs for Florence's Santa Maria Novella Station every 30 minutes. Single tickets cost 6 EUR. Terravision coaches travel to central Florence. Tickets cost 12 EUR, and the price includes a one day pass for Florence's city buses. Trains run between Florence and Signa. Airport transfer can be arranged in advance with the hotel. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. The surrounding area can easily be explored by bicycle. A car is useful for travelling further afield.
Driving directions. From the airport, follow the motorway in the direction of Pisa Livorno.
Leave the motorway at Lastra a Signa.
At the crossroads, turn right towards Signa and continue straight over the roundabout.
At the 2nd traffic light, turn right and drive over the Arno River to Signa.
Continue on 300 metres, passing beneath the railway tracks.
Turn left and keep to the left at the next junction, driving alongside the train tracks.
After approximately 4 kilometres, there is a blue sign for Poggio alla Malva.
Villa La Malva is located on the left, just before reaching the village.
