This hotel is situated on the banks of the river Leven that flows from the southern end of Lake Windermere.
The rooms are modern and in excellent condition. All are medium to large in size and decorated in modern pastel colours.
The hotel has a fine dining restaurant and a more relaxed bar menu. There is a Bar attached to the left of the building which is accessible from the hotel. It is popular most nights of the week both with guests and with the locals.
The lobby is large, bright and airy with modern decor within the white walls of the old building. The swimming pool is located directly behind the reception.
Originally a 17th Century Inn it is a listed building, many of the original features of the old Inn have been retained, including the facade, whilst a modern hotel has been built around it.
This hotel is a very good four-star property offering the luxuries of a top class modern hotel and the tradition of an olde English inn. It is located at the southern tip of the lake but is ideal as a quiet retreat in a beautiful location with easy access to the main tourist trail. (0506 PH)
