Location. The Hotel Sacher Salzburg is located on the bank of the Salzach River in Salzburg, Austria. Mozart's birthplace is 500 metres away, the Festival Hall is one kilometre away, and the Mirabell Gardens are a 50 metre distance. The airport is just six kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Dating back to 1866, the Hotel Sacher Salzburg is a majestic building with a large, baroque style lobby. Resplendent with chandeliers and luxurious seating, the hotel has an elegant piano bar, wireless Internet access, 24 hour room service and facilities for weddings.

The hotel features two fine dining restaurants and a cafe. One specialises in Austrian cooking, while the other is more international and has views towards the river. The hotel cafe serves hand crafted pastries and cakes.

Conferences can be held in dedicated seminar rooms or in the conservatory facing the river. Secretarial services and audiovisual equipment are available on request.

There is a health club with steam room and massage treatment area. Bicycle hire is also offered, ski shuttle packages are available, and there is a golf course nearby.

Guestrooms. The 112 air conditioned guestrooms are lavishly decorated with antique furniture and oil paintings. There are separate seating areas with desks and sofas. Guests are welcomed with a gift of chocolate pralines and Sachertorte chocolate, and all guestrooms have flatscreen digital satellite TVs, high speed and wireless Internet connections (surcharge), bathrobes and minibars.

Expert Tip. Salzburg's Old Town, with its world famous Baroque architecture, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. Leopalskron Palace, three kilometres away, was featured in the film The Sound of Music.

From Salzburg Airport (SZG):
Distance to Hotel Sacher Salzburg is 6 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The number 2 bus runs between the airport and Salzburg's main train station (Hauptbahnhof) every 10 minutes. Single tickets cost 1.80 EUR. Taxis to the city centre cost about 15 EUR. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Salzburg's city centre is best explored on foot. The city is served by an inexpensive tram and bus system, and there are numerous cycle paths. Driving is not advised for visitors, and cars are not allowed in some areas of the Old Town.
