The hotel stands on the site of Clubdon Hall, and takes its name from the nearby Ravensworth Castle. The pub can boast a wealth of literary connections: Lewis Carroll wrote his immortal classic Alice in Wonderland her and, it is claimed, the famous writer Catherine Cookson was conceived here, her mother having worked at the pub.In keeping with the traditional atmosphere of the building, we have 19 recently refurbished, quality, en suite bedrooms including an excellent four poster room. Our meeting room, the Lewis Carroll Suite holds up to 50 people. Wedding and civil ceremonies can be performed here as the Ravensworth Arms holds a civil licience.The hotel offers an extensive menu of fresh, seasonal dishes, we pride ourselves on sourcing only the finest of quality ingredients. Our steaks are cut from 35 day matured British beef to bring you a more tender, succulent meat, and we use British farm assured chicken and outdoor reared pork selected for their superior taste.
