Madeira Regency Club Hotel in Funchal, Portugal

This club resort, which was renovated in 2006, has a total of 96 studio apartments on 9 floors and enjoys the luxury of fantastic private sea access from the pool deck. The majority of the apartments have magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean. It is also air-conditioned with a lobby, 24-hour reception, hotel safe, lifts, a games room, bar, dining and parking facilities. Bike hire and a laundry service are also available at a fee.

Each studio apartment comes fully furnished with a spacious balcony. Each has a living room with comfortable furniture, kitchenette connected to the living room, bathroom, direct dial telephone, satellite TV and individually adjustable heating and air conditioning.

There is a pebble beach, where sun loungers and parasols are available for a fee. There are a number of bathing options available. Guests are able to choose between a leisurely dip in the heated saltwater pool or a more vigorous plunge in the crystal clear waters off the Madeiran shores. There is also a sauna, children's pool, gym and snooker tables available. In addition, the hotel offers an entertainment programme twice weekly (one night a duo and another night either foclore or fado).

The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the city centre. Located nearby are restaurants and popular local bars, which offer live music most evenings during the week. Public transport is available from directly in front of the hotel. Barreirinha beach is also in the area along with Teleférico to Monte (cable car) and Balão Panorâmico (hot air balloon service which offers views of the area). In addition, Funchal Airport is 30 km away.
