The King Charles Hotel is a privately-owned, modern, 98 bedroom hotel. It features a cosy, comfortable restaurant and first class conference and banqueting facilities. The Hotel is set in the heart of Medway and Maritime Kent and is just 2 minutes away from Historic Rochester with its Castle, Cathedral and Dickens Museum. Other sites of interest in Medway include Chatham Historic Dockyard, Fort Amherst, the Royal Engineers Museum and Dickens World. Central London is just 30 miles away as is the Channel Tunnel and Ferry Ports. Other places of interest include Bluewater Shopping Centre, Leeds Castle and Canterbury. We are ideal as a base for exploring both Kent and London and make an ideal stopover for coaches heading to and from Europe. We offer extremely competitive group rates with reductions for children and Sunday night stays. Our residents bar has been refurbished to a high standard and is now serving lunch and evening meals

FROM A2 SOUTHBOUNDTake the A289 Gillingham exit. At the end of the road, take the second exit to Gillingham (A289) at the roundabout. After you have driven through Medway Tunnel, move into the right-hand lane. Take the exit for Brompton (B2003) on your right. Turn right at the next set of traffic lights, following signs to Gillingham Town Centre Brompton (B2003). Just before the end of the road, turn left into the King Charles Hotel Car Park (marked by a sign). Follow the building around, until you reach the foyer, marked Reception.MOTORWAY ACCESSFrom the M1, take the M25 East. Go across the Dartford Crossing (toll applies) and take Junction 2 (A2M2) to Canterbury. Follow A2 Southbound directions.From the M4M40 take the M25 to Gatwick. Take Junction 2 (A2M2) to Canterbury. Follow A2 Southbound directions.FROM M20 NORTHBOUNDTake Junction 6 (A229) and head toward Chatham. Keep following the A229 until you pass PC World, Toys R Us and Rochester Airport (on your left), and move into the right-hand lane, following the A230 to Chatham. Follow the road to the very end, and bear right, following the signs for A231 Gillingham. Keep following the road, passing the Chatham Historic Dockyard on your left, and take the second exit at the roundabout. At the second set of traffic lights, turn left onto Prince Arthur Road, then immediately right into the car park (marked King Charles Hotel.
