Lucerne's newest five star hotel is located in the heart of the city a short walk from the famous wooden bridge and the lake.

The rooms are large on average though they do vary considerably in size. Beautiful polished wood floors and classy art nouveau furniture combine to give a warm welcoming feel whilst being eyecatchingly stark. Each room has a slightly different theme and each has a unique, usually classical, painting projected onto the ceiling from a film. There is also a copy of the film in the room so clients can see the famous scene if they choose. It goes without saying that both the rooms and the fantastic, super-modern bathrooms are in exceptional condition.

The restaurant is located on the lower ground floor. The cuisine is absolutely first class and as imaginative as the unusual decor.

The lobby is small and ultra-modern with a simple reception desk. The bar is open plan to the left of the lobby and offers plentiful seating on black leather sofas.

The building itself is unremakable from the outside save for the interesting frameless windows, and it blends in with its neighbours.

This unique hotel comes highly recommended. It may not cater to the tastes of the "traditional" five star hotel's guest, but its levels of excellence in terms of service and cuisine are as exceptional as its unusual styling - the work of Jean Nouvelle, cutting edge designer of Lucerne's new concert and congress centre 0908SR
