A minute of history: Built in the 18th century as a diocesan seminary at the behest of Cardinal Prospero Lambertini, the palazzo was converted to a hotel in 1911. Historic mansions and churches, rich in works of art, line the streets of one of the best preserved towns in Europe and highlight the cultural importance Bologna has had through its transition from Etruscan center to Gallic control and later still, to Roman control
Introduction: The hotel stands on the remains of medieval dwellings which, in turn, had stood on an old Roman road which is still visible at the entrance to the breakfast room. General Information: The Baglioni boasts a location near Bologna's main square and is a superb atmospheric choice.
