Small and luxurious country house hotel, it is privately owned and was completely refurbished in 2004. The hotel is fully wheelchair accessible and has a dedicated room for the physically challenged.There are 12 double rooms and 1 suite with a state of the art bathroom. The various public rooms are warm and inviting with log fires burning in winter. Every public room has a service bell through which guests may call upon the services of the staff. The house sits in 28 acres of gardens and woodlands including a 400 years old walled garden. Part of the walled garden is dedicated to growing fruits and vegetables, part is ornamental and part is set aside for relaxing garden games.

Standard rooms come in a variety of styles and shapes. Some have zip&link beds that can easily be turned into a proper twin room. Two of the standard rooms are turreted rooms. Some rooms have a king bed, some have a superking. However, whatever shape or size, they all are extremely comfortable and are furnished and equipped to the highest standards. All rooms are en-suite and all have views over the grounds and the hills beyond.

Within the grounds, archery can be organised as can mini highland games. Fishing can be arranged and also mountain biking and golf.||Some 55 marked walks in the seven forests along the river Tweed. Picnic hampers can be delivered as long as we know where to take them.|

The Borders region is one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland and yet rather undiscovered and therefore quiet. The narrow country roads will give many hourse of pleasure driving through the countryside. The river Tweed is a central element meandering through the Borders. The lochs are tranquil and invite you to relax on the shores. Many activities are available: golf, fishing, mountain biking, walking, historic houses, abbeys, City of Edinburgh, etc.

From Edinburgh or Edinburgh Airport via the A720 (City of Edinburgh Bypass): Leave the bypass for the A702 direction Biggar.A fork stay left for A703 to Peebles. Continue through Penicuik and Eddleston. And this country house hotel is on the right hand side of the road (well sign posted).|

Breakfast is available to guests each morning. At lunchtime and in the evenings guests may select dishes from the set menu or choose from the à la carte option. Special dietary requirements may be catered for. Guests may book either a half-board or full board stay.

American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and VISA are all accepted in the hotel.

Awarded 4 red stars by the AA, the only hotel in the Scottish borders with this award. Car parking in front of the House or in the overflow car park. Regularly attractive offers through website.|
