The Thistle Hotel is housed in a grand 19th century listed building situated opposite Newcastle train station, one kilometer from St James Park stadium. The hotel has 114 guestrooms which have a modern decor with patterned fabrics in warm colors and wooden furniture. All include trouser presses, tea making facilities, satellite television and hairdryers.
The Rendez Vous restaurant is open for breakfast lunch and dinner and serves British and international dishes, or guests can enjoy a drink or light meal in the Rendez Vous bar, open late at the weekend. The Thistle has seven function rooms catering for conferences, banquets, private dining and smaller group meetings. Guests may use the nearby fitness center for free, and there is limited car parking for guests(surcharge).
The Thistle concierge can help book tickets and advise on local attractions, such as the Laing art gallery 750 meters from the hotel, the Baltic art center (one mile) and the shops and bars of the Metro center (three miles), while football fans are just one kilometre from Newcastle United's home ground. The city has a comprehensive metro and bus system; for visitors arriving by airplane, Newcastle Airport is eight miles away.

Directions
The Airport Metro station is located right next to the main terminal. Travel time is approximately 20 25 mins to the city center and trains run as often as every 7 minutes. Guests should take the metro to Newcastle Central Station, opposite the hotel. Taxis and bus services also serve the airport.
From A1 follow signs to city center via Gateshead Bypass and over the Redheugh Bridge. Turn right at 1st traffic lights, left at next traffic lights and take next right down Bewick Street (Buses and access only). Thistle Newcastle can be found on left. There are 25 car parking spaces at no charge.
