Expert Tip. Drogheda, 13 kilometres away, is one of Ireland's oldest and most historic towns. Known as the gateway to the Boyne Valley, its history extends back to the arrival of the Celts in Ireland. However, there's more to this place than its history. Drogheda beach stretches from Clogherhead to Bettystown and is a great place to walk, fly kites and ride horses.
