The Hotel Bannatyne Darlington is part of the highly successful Bannatyne Group, owned by businessman Duncan Bannatyne, widely recognisable amongst the British public for his role on the hit BBC TV Dragon's Den programme. Originally built in the early 19th century, the hotel was initially home to railway pioneer and MP Joseph Pease. Later a convent school, the building first became a hotel in 1975. Today, the hotel offers popular accommodation and dining. Contemporary in style Maxine’s Restaurant and Bar is the ideal venue to meet for a drink, coffee, light snack or a total dining experience at any time of the day, with its enviable reputation for superb food accompanied by great wines and single malts.
