Chepstow Racecourse is a horse racing venue located just outside the town of Chepstow in Monmouthshire, Wales, near the border with England. With a history of racing dating back to 1926, the racecourse plays host to a mixture of 29 Jump and Flat race meetings throughout the year. The course’s flagship day of the year is the Welsh Grand National, which attracts a vast crowd to watch the top class jump racing action. Other calendar highlights include Bank Holiday Family Days, Ladies Night, Caribbean Racenight and Silver Trophy Day. Getting To ChepstowIdeally located between Bristol and Cardiff, the racecourse is well served by transport links. There is a Special Race Day bus service, with buses running from Chepstow Railway Station, up to the racecourse. The station is approximately 1½ miles from the course. Direct train services to Chepstow operate from Gloucester and Cardiff, from London via Newport, and Bristol via Severn Tunnel Junction. Bristol Parkway is a 20 minute drive away. Bristol Airport is approximately 30 miles from the racecourse, whilst Cardiff Airport is around 45 miles. Helicopters may land on the Racecourse by prior arrangement with the Racecourse Office. |
