Towcester Racecourse is an independent racecourse, privately owned by Lord Hesketh, and centrally located in the heart of England. The racecourse hosts National Hunt race meetings from October to May, and is one of the most beautiful courses in the country, offering fantastic viewing of the racing action & superb facilities.
The racecourse dates back to 1876, when Her Imperial Majesty, Elizabeth, the Empress of Austria, stayed at Easton Neston and held a race meeting of her own on Easter Monday. The event was such a success that it was decided to hold a race meeting every year at Towcester, and since 1928, the course has been established under National Hunt rules.
The racecourse is a one mile, six furlong, right-handed track, and is renowned for being one of the most testing National Hunt courses in the country.
As well as racing, the racecourse offers a wide range of conferencing, wedding and hospitality facilities, making it an ideal leisure destination for both corporate and private individuals.
Towcester Racecourse is located on the A5, just south of the town of Towcester. The postcode for the racecourse is NN12 6LB. When travelling by car, the racecourse is within easy reach of Junction 15a of the M1 and Junction 10 of the M40. Railways stations are located at Milton Keynes and Northampton, both approx 12 miles away. Helicopter landing is available with prior arrangement, and international airports at Luton and Birmingham are less than an hour’s drive.
Towcester Racecourse is currently the only course in the country to offer free admission to all race meetings (except Boxing Day and Easter Sunday).
