Tottenham Hotspur visitor guide

About White Hart Lane

White Hart Lane is the home of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, and is located in Tottenham, North London. First opened in 1899, White Hart Lane has an all-seated capacity of 36,240 and has hosted not just the home games for Spurs but was also a venue for England internationals during the hiatus between Wembley stadium being closed and the new Wembley being built. As befitting a stadium of White Hart Lane's history, there is a tour facility, which can take visitors all over the famous ground, including the changing rooms and the dugouts down by the turf. Away fans visiting White Hart Lane are accommodated at the corner of the West and South stands, and there is a bar, toilets and refreshment facilities in this part of the ground also.

Getting to White Hart Lane

There are many different ways to get to White Hart Lane and the White Hart Lane hotels in the area. There is the White Hart Lane railway station, which is served from all over the UK and it is a 5 minute walk to the ground from there. To get there by Tube, the Seven Sisters station on the Victoria Line is a twenty minute walk away, as is the Tottenham & Hale station, also on the Victoria line. To lessen the walk from these stations, or to just go by bus, numbers 149, 259 and 279 all serve White Hart Lane. As with many grounds, the road network around them on match days can become severely congested, and the use of public transport is advisable. However, if you must come by car, use satellite navigation or a reputable route planner, using the postcode of the stadium, which is N17 0AP. Free parking is extremely rare, and it can cost around £8 to park your car in one of the private car parks around the ground, providing there are spaces of course.

Where to stay near White Hart Lane

Hotels near White Hart Lane are quite limited due to the location of the ground itself. The best options for places to stay to access White Hart Lane are a little further away, but are nonetheless within easy commutable distance.

Approximately 2 miles away is the Express by Holiday Inn Chingford, which offers good value 3-star accommodation. Also worth a mention is the 3-star Oak Lodge hotel. Located just outside Enfield, the hotel provides comfortable accommodation in a leafy setting, and it is still within easy reach of the ground. For other White Hart Lane hotels you have to move slightly further away, such as the 3-star Pembury hotel, which prides itself on being convenient for accessing London.

For a touch more luxury when talking of White Hart lane hotels, the 4-star Hilton London Islington is close by, and offers a modern hotel with a good location. On the other end of the scale, for a truly budget White Hart Lane hotel the 2-star Sleeping Beauty motel offers cheap accommodation with an excellent location, being close to the popular bars and restaurants in Leyton as well as boasting good transport links to London itself.

In short, White Hart Lane hotels are best found when you move a mile or two away from the ground. Central London is also within easy reach, with it's almost surfeit of hotel options, and this is an option for travelling fans too.
