THE RIVERSIDE STADIUM
The Riverside Stadium is a football stadium in the town of Middlesbrough, England. It is the home of Middlesbrough Football Club, and opened in 1995 to replace Ayresome Park, the former home of Middlesbrough FC. The ground has a capacity of 35,100, but there are plans in place, should they be needed, to expand to 42,000 all-seated.
Away fans are seated in the South Stand, and there are good views from there. There are toilet facilities in the stand and there is also food and drink for sale in the away fans' area too. One of the newer grounds in the country; it makes for an enjoyable away day trip for any football fan.
HOW TO GET TO THE RIVERSIDE STADIUM
As with many journeys nowadays, the best way to get to the Riverside is to use a route planner, and there is a good one on Middlesbrough FC's website, or better still use satellite navigation. Incidentally, and to help with this, the Riverside's postcode is TS3 6RS. There is ample parking around the stadium should you wish to come by car, though as you might expect traffic does become a problem on match days.
The nearest rail station is Middlesbrough station, which is located on Albert Road. It is a signposted 10-15 minute walk from there to the ground.
Buses leave for the Riverside regularly on match days from the centre of Middlesbrough itself. There is also coach parking at the ground itself. Of course, there are also taxis from the city centre and the train station.
WHERE TO STAY NEAR THE RIVERSIDE STADIUM
