The Walkers Stadium is a football ground in the East Midlands of England and is the home of Leicester City Football Club. It is named after after snack food manufacturers Walkers, which is the club’s main sponsor.
The club is one of the oldest and most traditional in England, and has enjoyed spells in the Premier League as well as the lower divisions in recent years.
The all-seater Walkers Stadium was inaugurated in July 2002 and has a capacity of 32,500.
As well as Leicester games, the stadium has also hosted international matches, with England and Brazil both performing there.
Leicester is a little isolated in its position in the UK, but can be reached by car from London in 2 hours. The stadium is a 15-20 minute walk from Leicester city centre.
Leicester Railway Station connects to numerous major UK cities including London and is a 20-25 minute walk away from the stadium.
There are many car parking spaces on the Freemans Common which is about a 10 minute walk to the stadium.
The nearest public airport to Leicester is East Midlands. However, the airport has no direct rail link and so a taxi is recommended to make the 25 mile journey to the stadium.
