Brunton Park is the home of Carlisle United Football Club and is situated in Carlisle, Cumbria, north west England.
It opened in 1909 and has a capacity of 16,651.
In January 2005 the stadium was completely flooded when the region was hit
by vast amounts of rain over the course of a few days.
In terms of local amenities, the Carlisle Rugby Club next to Brunton Park has a
club bar which allows in away supporters and is family friendly.
Carlisle is reasonably well served by public transport and is also within easy reach of the M6 motorway.
Brunton Park is located a mile from the centre of Carlisle and is within
walking distance of the Carlisle Citadel Railway Station, which is
served by the West Coast Main line and connect to cities across the UK
including London.
For motorists, parking is available in the club car park for a small fee. There is also street parking.
The nearest major airport is Newcastle Airport, which is about 55 miles
from Brunton Park. The airport connects to destinations across the UK
and Europe.
The branch was formed in, and is run, from London, and has expanded over
the years to cover exiled Carlisle fans all over the UK, France, Eire,
Netherlands, Korea, Australia, Japan and even Carlisle.
The club has a total membership approaching 350, including a ‘Junior Blues’ section of 49 younger members.
