Dean Court is a football stadium in Bournemouth, on the south coast of England. It is home to Bournemouth AFC. The ground was first opened in 1901, and was completely renovated in 2001, with the pitch rotated ninety degrees from its original position. Its current capacity is 9,600. The interior of the main stand boasts a ‘Top Floor’ Restaurant and a bar. The stadium has also been used for music concerts, hosting Elton John in 2006. Getting To Dean CourtDean Court is located on the outskirts of Bournemouth, 3 km east of the town centre. and is accessible by road from the A338. It is a 2-hour drive from London. Trains from outside Bournemouth will arrive at Bournemouth Central, which is around a half-an-hour walk to the stadium. If you don’t fancy the walk, take a local train to Pokesdown or jump in a taxi. Alternatively you can catch a yellow Number 33 bus from the station to the ground There is a large car park at the ground that is accessible through the Kings Park entrance for which a small charge is payable. For those wanting to fly, Bournemouth has its own airport which connects to cities across Europe (and Africa). The airport is 4.5 miles from Dean Court. |
