Blackpool F.C. has played its home games at Bloomfield Road since 1899. After many years spent crumbling, Bloomfield road is undergoing redevelopment into a modern 16,000 all seater stadium; it currently has three stands and an all seated capacity of 9,788. In its heyday the Bloomfield Road stadium could house up to 38,000 spectators, the record attendance being 38,098 for a match against the Wolverhampton Wanderers on 17th September 1955. Visiting supporters will find themselves housed in the temporary seated stand on the Eastern side of the ground. The capacity of this temporary stand is 1,700, and with only basic facilities and no roof, many away fans have commented on a visit to Bloomfield Road not being the most pleasant of experiences, especially if it is raining. On a more positive note, the view of the pitch is excellent and the legroom is good.
Blackpool legends Sir Stanley Matthews and Stan Mortenson have been honoured at the ground by having the West and North stands named after them respectively.
Parking is available in the large pay and display car parks opposite the stadium. Prices can vary depending on time of year with the tourist months being more expensive, but generally fans can expect to pay between £1-4. For those prepared to look, street parking can be found near the ground.
