The Rose Bowl is an English cricket ground located near Southampton, on England’s south coast and is home to Hampshire County Cricket Club.
It is also used for One Day International matches, including England games. The Rose Bowl staged England’s first ever Twenty20 international, against Australia in 2005.
The venue opened in 2001 and is consequently one of the most modern cricket stadiums around. The capacity can be adapted depending on the occasion, ranging upwards from 9,000 to over 22,000.
The Rose Bowl also acts as a venue for conferences and music concerts, and has an adjoining golf course which offers packages which incorporate golf and cricket days.
Southampton is easily accessible by train or road and can be reached from London in less than 2 hours.
The city has two mainline train stations – Southampton Central and Southampton Parkway – and it is the latter of the two that is closer to the stadium (3.5 miles). Both stations are on the same line.
Occasionally there is a shuttle bus that runs from Southampton Parkway to cricket matches at the Rose Bowl.
Southampton also has its own airport which connects to a limited number of European cities. The airport is 5 miles from the Rose Bowl.
Matchday parking is available at most matches, but needs to be booked in advance. You can do so by calling the Ticket Office on 0870 243 0291.
